A few things: Suzannah
Johannes' self-titled 7 inch is off to mastering, and then
off to press next week. Exciting stuff, 4 songs, all hits. I am lucky
enough to be co-releasing this with Range
Life Records, a label that I gush about almost daily. The
record will be out in September on 7 inch and as digital files.
Hopefully I can post the artwork and a song in a week or two. Stay
tuned.
Bears'
"Shortest Day Of the Year" 10 inch is in the can and getting slaved
over by the pressing gods. I'm aiming for an August or September
release.
After that, there is a couple of things coming along for the Fall: a cd
from Wisdom Tooth, the vinyl version of
the upcoming Bears record, a digital ep from It's
a King Thing, a 7 inch from Canada's Perilisk
and maybe a Bruhder
record. Radical.
There is a new blog link, please update your bookmarks if you for some
reason bookmarked it. The store will be up and running in a little bit,
just working on the fine print of things, coding and what not. Look for
orders, pre-orders, totes, stickers, buttons and all of that fun stuff
that makes running a label so worthwhile.
My friends Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A
Start are calling it a day after many moons together and many
amazing records. They have a last show set up in August, don't miss it.
I am not sure I can make it out to New Jersey for this one, but I'm
trying. Thanks for the good times fellas. You can find the info at their
myspace page.
Now onto some things of no value but a lot of fun: I just finished
reading "The Cheese Monkeys" by Chip Kidd. I dug it, and now I am
onto the recently released follow up "The Learners". I am jamming the
new Wooden
Shjips singles collection "Vol 1", Abe
Vigoda's "Skeleton", Jason Anderson's "Life Sucks Love
Sucks Dose Out" + "Thug Poet" and Sam
Sparro's self-titled. Haven't really seen any great movies
lately, but then again I've been saving myself for this weekend's
Batman movie "The Dark Knight". I cannot wait to
say the least. It's been a wonderful summer, a bit lowkey but not any
less lovely than it should be. Prepping for a move to Lawrence in the fall, get ready.
Goodnight.

I am a little early as most of the cool big news is coming in the next
couple of weeks, but there are some little things going on that warrant
a hello. Most of those things are that every section except the contact
one has been updated, some are big and some are small: you can find out
about some new bands we're working with, what's coming up next, who's
doing a gig soon (hint: most everyone), a few new songs in the song
player and some new media pictures I worked on while coming back from
Cleveland (or to, I can't remember). I think everything looks very
pretty right now.
Also, Titles
are having their record release show on Friday at Cafe 9. They are
friends of the label and one of my favourite Connecticut bands so it's
well worth checking out. The gig is free and "Up With the Sun", their
new album is $10. From what I've heard of it, it's incredible. Congrats
to the band and Safety Meeting for a job well done. Go to their website
for more information.
Talk to you all soon!

You’ve got
Some “Star-Spangled”
Nails
In your coffin, kid.
That’s what
They’ve done for you,
Son.
Hello friends, family and lovers. I haven't had much to say, so no need
to speak. That is mostly true now, but being quiet for months on end is
no fun for those of you who are kind enough to bring your eyes over to
my little home here on the internet. Thanks for stopping by once again,
please come on in. The spring has sprung, so the fireplace is lull at
last for the seasons and now it is time to cut winter hair and enjoy
the the arts my fellow humans are creating.
It's been a long time coming, but 2 of my favourite music makers are
doing vinyl releases on the Teeth: come this summer you can enjoy Bears'
"Shortest Day Of the Year" ep on wax, bringing it on it's last possible
format (thanks to the band for the cd and mp3 versions and Best Kept
Secret for the cassette release). There has been much talk with my good
friend Charlie Bear about doing more with them in the future, which I
would love. Bears have been making some of my favourite music these
past couple of years and are also some of the nicest people ever born
from their respective mothers and fathers. The other release is a vinyl
version of Suzannah Johannes' ep which I have
been listening to on repeat for months now. This one is a pleasure in
so many ways: Suzie is fantastic, they are songs written by my new
friend Hanz Bronze and it is a co-release
from the cd version from our best friends at Range
Life Records. Oh joy. I hope to go to Lawrence soon to say
hello to everyone. I adore them very much.
There will probably be more, I am sure, but right now I am going to
keep my mouth shut and my smile wide. I saw Dri
in NoHo the other night which was lovely (as well as the vegan Chinese
I ate), this Thursday's LOST was a great episode and my tax check
arrived. The sun is shining and the icebox is yearning, email me if you
want to hang out and BBQ.
Oh, and I preordered the new No Age record "Nouns". I like them a lot.
What are you listening to? Email me!
Currently listening: Vivian Girls "Wild
Eyes" 7 inch, Jason Anderson "Wilderness, etc" digital lp, Danava
"UnonoU", Juvelen "1", She & Him "Volume One", The Sword "Gods
Of the Earth". Currently watching: OZ season five, The
Simpsons season eight, Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!
season one. Currently reading: "The Cheese Monkeys"
by Chip Kidd, "Ronin" by Frank Miller.

It's a happy birthday today for 2 of my favourite people: Daniella P
and Tom from Bruhder. I love you both the most.
Two killer Connecticut shows going down in the next couple of days:
tonight is Bear Hands at Wesleyan University
for free and tomorrow is Karl Blau (who's "Beneath Waves"
lp is one of the best records of the decade) is at the blooming Heirloom Arts Theater in Danbury
for $5. Fuck yeah!

Well it took awhile (I actually finished it a couple of days ago, don't
tell anybody), but it's finally here: our best of 2007 lists, by our
friends and family! Find lists from: Me, Daniella, Jason Anderson,
Conway of ECA, Matt from The bird and the vine, Ezra of Slowdance, Cale
Parks, John from Georgie James, Zaguar of Range Life, Tom from Bruhder,
Charlie from Bears, Quincy Quartz, High Places, Ivana XL, Ryan from
Quiet Life, Brad from TITLES and Japayork. Whew. Everyone I just listed
are beautiful babies, support them and their delightful tastes. Find
the lists here:
Also, our best friends Bruhder are playing a gig in
Watertown, CT tonight, and if you're in the area I highly recommend
attending. Nicole (friend of the label) is now a part of their ever
evolving lineup now (though I feel like this is the last evolution of
the band, like when man evolved from ape and such... sorry fans who
don't subscribe to this belief, we can still be friends though). I saw
her with them on Friday and it was a fantastic dynamic.
Also, I've heard Monitor and the Merrimac is playing who put out one of
my favourite records of '07 and is a fine representative of quality
Connecticut music. So no reason not to go (I will probably be there if
I can be freed up to do so, fingers crossed). Here is the info:
January, 6th 2008 @ Cafe Napoli, 686 Main Street, Watertown,
Connecticut. $5. Bruhder w/ Monitor and the Merrimac, Mandrake,
Bearstranaut
2008, I still am in love with you! WOOO (but brrr)!!

Holy fuck, those Via Audio duders have been all over the interweb
lately. Besides a sexy Pitchfork review, they contributed
previously unreleased track "My Boo" to blog It's
Hard to Find A Friend's holiday compilation "Peace On Earth".
It's $7 and 100% of the proceeds go to Toys For Tots. You can find this
hotness right here. The blog also named
Via Audio's new record their #1 of 2007!! How rad! In the meantime, "My
Boo" will be on the vinyl version of
"Saysomethingsaysomethingsaysomething" from us in 2008. It's also on
our player to the left of this (along with The Kid's
remix of "Neighbour's" by The bird and the vine and a Laughing Owls
track) so check it out.
Also, the Audio kiddies appeared on NPR's Fair Game a little while
back, playing some old gems and an unreleased jam called "Digital",
which is a live favourite if you've seen the band lately. You can find
this session at http://www.morefairgame.org and
search for "Via Audio".
Bruhder posted another new song on their hotspace called "I Turn On".
Go get familiar with your new favourite song at their Bruhderspace.
Finally, sometime next week Pink Teeth will be posting our top ten of
2007 lists. It's our annual thing, let us nerds have our moment! Keep
an eye open for that! Woo!!

Via Audio is on tour! Check the gigs section for all the dates. Enjoy
them West Coast, we all miss them dearly.
Also, in the gallery, there is some new images from Japayork,
Zaguar and myself, check them out.
Thanks bros! More awesome things coming soon!
27 November 2007
Hello friends!
Golly! As long as this label has been an idea and a presence on the Internet, the promise of a website has been a lovely, lovely dream. There has been countless false starts and one pages, but here we are. I think we can all breathe a collective sigh, and begin to look ahead.
Closing out 2007 will be the Dead Science picture disc and the vinyl version of our friends Via Audio's newest full length. The picture disc will be good to go in a matter of weeks and ready to order, and the Via Audio 12" should be popping up in January. Hot! Keep your eyes here and in our store for smiles.
From there we will be taking a couple of months off in 2008 to prep some new hotness. Coming up will be the long awaited CD single for Cavaliers' "K-10" with 3 unreleased songs, the vinyl version of Quiet Life's upcoming "Act Natural", a full length from Bruhder along the way, a full length from Laughing Owls and some secret treasures that will soon be announced in your ears and one day in your hands.
There is much to add here on the site, including some new songs for the player, more art in the gallery (found in the media section) from our friends and some other fun. Please check back with us in the next week for all of that. As always, our newly launched blog is the best bet for up to date news and time wasting activities. It's like the online equivalent of a colouring book or a crossword puzzle... or not.
Many, many, many thanks go to Allison Gore for designing this whole thing for us. I could not ask for a better resident designer, and she was the one to bring my vision for a website to life, adding gold and silver along the way to make it better than a dream could be. I love you Ally! Let's get pancakes!
Also thanks to our bands, friends and everyone I asked to send in photos and art. Should be some wonderful crafts to listen to and look at from us, I promise!
